About Kirk Kendall

A professional foundation built on engineering, leadership, and service

Kirk Kendall was born in Toronto in 1981 and raised in the Codroy Valley, Newfoundland and Labrador. From an early age, he demonstrated both academic excellence and athletic drive, earning honors and multiple sports awards throughout school. His path led him to Dalhousie University in Halifax, where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering.

After graduation, Kirk joined the Canadian Forces as a commissioned Engineer Officer. His military career included advanced training, leadership roles, and an eight-month deployment to Afghanistan, where he managed multimillion-dollar construction operations. He retired at the rank of Major, having served as Deputy Commanding Officer of 37 Combat Engineer Regiment.

Following military service, Kirk transitioned into large-scale project management. His experience spans work with Amec Foster Wheeler, Colliers Project Leaders, and Grieg Seafood before assuming his current position as Director, Industrial at DF Barnes. He also holds a Masters Certificate in Project Management from Memorial University and professional designations as a P.Eng. and PMP.

Today, Kirk applies the same principles that guided him in uniform—discipline, clarity, and integrity—to every project he manages. He lives in Newfoundland and Labrador with his wife, Trina, and their three children.
